Free College Planning for Adults

Maine Educational Opportunity Center hosts free individualized sessions, Essentials of College Planning and Financial Aid, for adults 19 and older who are looking for a new career or returning to higher education.

Sessions are being held in person at the Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Ave., Belfast, Tuesdays, Jan. 4 and 18, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Virtual sessions are being held Monday, Jan. 3, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 7, at 9 a.m.; Monday, Jan. 10, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 14, at 9 a.m.; and Friday, Jan. 21, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Virtual Financial Aid sessions are being held via Zoom Thursdays, Jan. 6 and 13, at 3 p.m.

In-person Financial Aid sessions will be held at the Rockland UMA Center also on Thursdays, Jan. 6 and 13, at 3 p.m

MEOC is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education. The program helps qualified adults make the transition toward a new career and relevant educational credentials. We provide individualized assistance in career planning, stackable credentials, completion of FAFSA, rehabilitation of defaulted loans, and finding the appropriate funding for your education.

• Application fee waivers for qualified adults

• Scholarship application completion, and

• Help you develop a plan for your new future!
